Returning home after being abroad for however long, whether that’s 10 days or a year, you were constantly surrounded by people and now you aren't. You were thrown into immediate community on your trip.

How do you cultivate community when you get home?

  • Plan meals with your friends
  • Live with one or 2 other people you can relate to and share beliefs with
  • Serve with friends. Go out into your community and sit with the homeless, pray for people together.

Where to find community?

  • Most people find community in church
  • Small groups/ life groups
  • If you cannot find a group to join, create your own!

What to look for in community?

  • Use discernment when looking for community
  • Find people who push your towards Jesus
  • People to usher in the Holy Spirit with
  • And don’t forget who like to have fun together!

Don’t get discouraged if this community doesn’t happen right away. Since you are not with these people 24/7, this is going to take time. This will take effort. This will require you to get in your car and drive somewhere. This will require you to put yourself out there.
